Cello students of Catherine Lehr Ramos, Naomi Benecasa and Richard Mazuski perform as the Myxolydian Duo

Catherine Lehr Ramos has been an active teacher since she was a teenager in Ohio.  She joined the faculty of the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico City in March of 2017.  In addition, she is on the cello and chamber music faculties of Rocky Mountain Summer Conservatory and the Community Music School of Webster University.  Ms. Lehr is registered with the American Suzuki Association in all ten cello books.  Her students have been featured soloists with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and with community orchestras throughout the St. Louis bi-state region.  Her students have appeared on NPR's From the Top radio program, have been prize-winners in national competitions, and have regularly been members of the National High School Honors Orchestra. She has given master classes and clinics at Vanderbilt University, Northern Arizona University, Arizona State University, University of Missouri-Columbia, and DePaul University in Chicago.  Ms. Lehr was honored by the Missouri String Teacher's Association in 2008 as Artist Teacher of the Year.

Believing that we all learn from each other, Ms. Lehr has participated with students in organizing children's concerts.  She has performed together with students for diverse audiences and encourages them to support and mentor each other as colleagues, sharing their music with the wider world.
